A major change can leave you feeling overwhelmed even when you are doing your best to cope. Support can help you understand your response and find a way through.

Life changes can affect mental health
Relationship difficulties, bereavement, illness, caregiving, relocation, retirement, and work pressures can affect mood, sleep, and concentration. Some people experience anxiety, sadness, irritability, or difficulty keeping up with responsibilities.
Understanding your response
Not every reaction to stress is a mental health disorder. Adjustment disorder may be considered when emotional or behavioral symptoms related to an identifiable stressor cause significant distress or difficulty functioning. We assess the timing, context, and severity rather than assume a diagnosis from a stressful event alone.
How NBH can help
We provide psychiatric evaluations, supportive psychotherapy during visits, and medication management when clinically appropriate. Your plan can include coping strategies, strengthening support, and addressing related anxiety, depression, or sleep concerns. Medication decisions depend on your symptoms and overall health.
A plan that can change with your needs
We follow your progress as circumstances change. If symptoms persist or suggest another condition, we reassess the diagnosis and treatment plan. With your permission, we can work with your therapist or primary care provider to support continuity of care.
Taking the first step
You do not need to have everything figured out before requesting an appointment. Tell us what has changed, what feels hardest, and what you would like help managing. We will work with you to identify practical goals and next steps.
