Telepsychiatry

Telepsychiatry makes it possible to meet with your psychiatric provider by video, without traveling to an office. At Novexa Behavioral Health, adults and older adults can receive psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and follow-up care through virtual appointments.
Whether transportation, caregiving responsibilities, or a busy schedule makes office visits difficult, telehealth offers another way to access care. You must be physically located in Maryland or Washington, DC during each appointment.

What to Expect During a Virtual Visit

Your virtual appointment is a conversation about your symptoms, concerns, and treatment goals. For an initial evaluation, we review your mental health and medical history. During follow-up visits, we discuss how treatment is working, review medication benefits and side effects, and consider any adjustments together.
We also assess whether telehealth is appropriate for your needs. If an in-person assessment or another level of care is needed, we explain the next steps and help coordinate care when appropriate.

How to Prepare for Your Telehealth Appointment

  • Choose a quiet, private space where you can speak comfortably.
  • Use a phone, tablet, or computer with a working camera, microphone, and reliable internet connection.
  • Have your medication list and any questions available.
  • Follow the appointment access instructions provided by our practice.
  • Be physically located in Maryland or Washington, DC, and be ready to confirm your current location at the start of the visit.
  • Join from a stationary location; do not attend while driving.
