Psychiatric Medication Management

Medication management is an ongoing conversation about how treatment is working for you. At Novexa Behavioral Health, we consider your symptoms, health history, previous medication experiences, and preferences when discussing options. Follow-up visits help us review benefits, address side effects, and decide together whether adjustments are needed.
We provide psychiatric medication management for adults and older adults, with in-person appointments in Beltsville, Maryland, and Washington, DC, and telehealth across both areas.

What to Expect at Your First Visit

We discuss what each medication is intended to help with, possible side effects, and when benefits may become noticeable. We also review your other medications and relevant health conditions to guide treatment decisions.
During follow-up visits, we assess changes in symptoms, daily functioning, and tolerability. When appropriate, we may recommend laboratory testing or coordinate with your other healthcare providers. Your questions and preferences remain part of every decision, including whether to continue, adjust, or gradually discontinue a medication.

How to Prepare for Your Appointment

Please have an updated list of your medications and supplements, including doses, available for your visit. Let us know about changes in your health, new medications from other providers, missed doses, or side effects.
Before follow-up appointments, consider what has improved, what remains difficult, and any changes in sleep, mood, or daily functioning. Bring your questions so we can discuss them together.
For telehealth visits, choose a quiet, private space with a reliable internet connection. You must be physically located in Maryland or Washington, DC during your appointment.
